Emerging Artist Series: Joseph Cracolici

Tue, Jun 1 6:30pm

Our Emerging Artist Series celebrates young talent, offering live performance opportunities in front of a supportive audience.

Joseph Cracolici, a sophomore at the College of the Holy Cross, was awarded the John E. Brooks Music Scholarship in 2019, studying since then with Jan Müller-Szeraws. As Brooks Scholar, Cracolici has studied and collaborated with a variety of celebrated musicians, including violinist Michelle Ross, pianist Adam Golka, and cellist Jan Müller-Szeraws, in addition to fellow Brooks Scholars. Prior to his time at Holy Cross, Cracolici was a regular selection for the MMEA District and All-State Orchestras, performing at prominent venues such as the FAC at UMass Amherst and Boston’s Symphony Hall. In addition, Cracolici regularly held leadership positions in the Pittsfield High School Chamber Orchestra and the Stockbridge Sinfonia, translating into numerous soloist opportunities with both ensembles.

Furthermore, he has received prizes from the Ferris Burris and South Mountain Willem Willeke Scholarship Competitions, in addition to being named a finalist for the Uel Wade Scholarship Competition and Filene Music Scholarship at Skidmore College. In addition to his responsibilities as Brooks Scholar, Cracolici is also a member of the Holy Cross Chamber Orchestra, the Chamber Music Program, and the Chapel Choir as an instrumentalist. Also an avid supporter of community collaboration, in high school Cracolici served as a Cello Mentor for students in the El Sistema inspired music program Kids 4 Harmony. Cracolici will be attending the Eastern Music Festival in Greensboro, North Carolina later this summer.
