Q-MoB Diva Dance Party Fundraiser

May 21 3:00pm6:00pm

CELEBRATING DIVAS: It’s been a challenging three years of COVID lockdowns, economic upheaval, war, & trying to forget Trump, but WE HAVE SURVIVED, and now it’s time to celebrate with a big Queer Diva Dance Party. Dress up as your favorite Queer Dance Diva from the past or just show up in your unique version of the queer diva you are or could be. This party is for all queer divas, regardless of their pronouns, sophistication, trashiness, or over-the-topness. Just be the biggest, best YOU you can pull off, and we’ll love & worship you like the Diva you are.

P.S.– If you idea of dressing up as a diva includes a flannel shirt, work pants, & sensible shoes, we love that because Divas come in many forms of drag, and we want you to be you!

NOMINATING LOCAL DIVAS: When you register for this event, we ask you, in the Spirit of the Pride Season, to nominate your favorite local diva and let us know why you consider them worthy of the whole community’s adoration and respect. We will read several of these nominations during the Queer Diva Dance Celebration and post them all on the Diva Altar, AND if those people are present & willing, we will kindly invite them to receive our love & adoration for their service.

FUNDRAISER$5-$50 Sliding Scale (pay at the door, no one turned away for lack of funds). This party is a fundraiser for Q-MoB, a non-profit hub for diverse, intergenerational community organizing in the Greater Berkshires Region for rural queer men of all ages, races, income levels, & backgrounds to explore & manifest their individual and collective potential.

HOSTS/PERFORMERS:

* Bella Santarella is a local drag performer, fundraiser for local queer causes, and part of the driving force of BerqsQueers and Berkshire Pride.

* DJ & MC Tom Truss is a long-time performance artists, dancer, choreographer, theater director, actor, and local Diva Extraordinaire!

IMPORTANT PARKING INSTRUCTIONS:

Parking is limited at The Foundry so please utilize the three public parking lots in West Stockbridge. One is across from the Post Office, one is behind Berkshire Bank and the other is just off Main Street. They are clearly marked. Do not park at Trúc Orient Express Restaurant or the Post Office or you might receive a ticket.

REQUEST FOR VOLUNTEERS: When you register, please indicate if you’d be willing to volunteer to do things like:

1. Coordinate Rideshares & Carpools, particularly for people who need a ride to get to this event

2. People to help set up & decorate the space before the event

3. People to help with Registration & Nametags at the beginning

4. People to help cleanup after the vent

Many hands make light work, and our volunteers always have the best time and meet the most people, and if you’re shy we’ll find a job for you where you don’t have to talk to anyone (unless he’s cute).
