Written and Performed by The Fremonts
Directed by Kelly Van Oosbree
Produced by Chuck Porter
The Fremonts have been married for eight years and they have the therapy bills to prove it. In this one-hour comedy cabaret, Stephanie Dodd from Fremont, Nebraska (Vocals/Accordion) & Justin Badger from Fremont, California (Vocals/Guitar) perform their original music and tell their story of meeting in New York, performing on Broadway, accidentally moving to Boulder, and doing everything in their power to stay sane and married at the same time. This show was born when Executive Producer, Chuck Porter declared, “hey kids, let’s do a show” after a few beers in a hotel bar. It has a companion piece, a full length album by the same title, which was released digitally on Friday, April 26th 2019.
“The Fremonts are a Boulder-based band that know how to combine pretty and gruff in all the best ways. Dodd (vocals/keyboard/xylophone) has a gentle, soothing voice that guides you along their lyrical stories. And Badger (vocals/guitar/suitcase kick drum) brings in strong, turbulent tones. It’s a perfect fit.” -Hannah Oreskovich, bolderbeat.com
“’How do we get to the light, to the beauty and calm we see on the horizon? How do we tame the chaos of our hearts?’ The Fremonts’ answer is to work your ass off to make your own place, and that’s exactly what they have done. They stake a claim, and they’re not giving it up.” -Libby Emmons, Spill Magazine
