This highly talented group of Juilliard School musicians challenge the so-called “concert hall etiquette” as they collaborate to inspire a new perspective around unconventional chamber music. Audiences in attendance of live classical music often appear to be a sea of statues. Classical music can feel inaccessible to people who have not studied it and the convention of a seemingly required stillness and need to almost meditate in order to truly “understand” the music can exacerbate the disconnect. Not everybody interacts with art the same way. These artists encourage the audience to respond in whatever way they feel is appropriate while listening. Should they feel a natural movement arise in their bodies as they hear the sounds of Vaughan Williams, they are invited to leave their seats and enter the “dance floor”. They hope this project leaves the audience, quite literally, moved by what they witness.

Lila Holyoke is a cello student at the Juilliard school under the tutelage of Natasha Brofsky and Clara Kim. Lila was a Kovner Fellow during the 2022-23 school year while she studied as an undergraduate artist diploma student. Lila was part of a piano trio, Trilogy, for six years. Trilogy was a semifinalist at the 2019 Fischoff Chamber Music Competition. They performed at Carnegie’s Weill Hall, the Rose Studio at Chamber Music Society, the National Arts Club and on WNYC. They worked together as part of New York Youth Symphony’s Chamber Music program where they received the Director’s Award for commitment and achievement. In 2021, Lila was part of a string quartet that performed at a Gala honoring composer Jesse Montgomery. In 2022 she was principal cello of the Grammy winning NYYS Orchestra. Lila has spent her summers at the Kinhaven and Greenwood Music Schools, Yellowbarn’s Young Artists Program, and Meadowmount.
Violinist Katya Moeller is a student of Masao Kawasaki, pursuing her Bachelor’s Degree in Violin Performance at the Juilliard School. Most recently, Katya was named the First Prize Winner of the World Bach Competition, ODIN International Music Competition, and 1st World Violein E-Competition Napolinova, Grand Prize Winner of the ENKOR International Violin Competition, and Second Prize Winner of the Togliatti International Violin Competition. Nationally, she won the American Opera Society of Chicago Scholarship Award, Grand Prize at the Walgreens National Concerto Competition, and First Prize in the Musicians Club of Women-Chicago. Katya has appeared on Chicago’s classical music station, WFMT 98.7, and Iowa Public Radio’s Classical Music Station. As a member of the Avita Duo, she has performed in Brazil, thailand, Singapore, and The USA. The Duo released their first recording of Lera Auerbach’s 24 Preludes for Violin and Piano and world-premiere of Oskolki on the Hanssler Classic label to enthusiastic critical acclaim.
Pearl de la Motte currently studies viola with Hsin-Yun Huang at the Juilliard School. Pearl was named the first place winner of the 2019 LJSC Young Artist competition, the 2019 HB Goodlin Competition, and the 2021 American Viola Society National Competition, Senior Division. In April 2019, she received the Jack Kent Cooke Young Artist award as part of the From The Top radio program. Pearl is also a proud recipient of the Kovner Fellowship at the Juilliard School.
Joe Weinberg is now a proud student of Joseph Conyers at the Juilliard School and will graduate in 2026. He has been accepted twice to the Boston University Tanglewood Institute’s Double Bass Workshop and Young Artist Instrumental Program in 2021 and 2022. In 2022, Joe was named the first place winner of the Uel Wade competition. He was also a recipient of the Daniel Pearl scholarship in the same year. Joe is grateful to have been able to spend five weeks this summer in Orford, Quebec at the Orford Music Academy where he also had the pleasure of working briefly with Collectif 9, a Montreal based string chamber ensemble, for a performance at Orford Musique.
Ivy Xiaoya Wan is a Chinese pianist currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Piano Performance at The Juilliard School in the shared studios with Hung-Kuan Chen and Julian Martin. She has been a signed pianist supported by Kayserburg since 2020.
Wan has achieved success in various competitions, including the first prize of the Imola International Piano Competition in Italy and the Shanghai Weibo International Piano Competition in China. She has been a prize-winner at the Campillos International Piano Competition in Spain, the Ettlingen International Piano Competition, the Grotrian International Piano Competition in Germany, and the Hong Kong Asia International Piano Competition.
Some of her notable performances include appearances with the Orchestra da Camera di Imola under the baton of maestro Vladimir Ashkenazy, Orchestre Métropolitain, and the Estonia Philharmonic. As a recitalist, she has performed at esteemed venues such as the National Gallery of Art, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York Steinway Hall, Minnesota Orchestra Hall, Bolzano Concert Hall, Beijing Concert Hall, and St. Petersburg Concert Hall.
