Writing & Performing the Monologue

Friday mornings nine to noon
September 6 – October 4

Accessing an interior life, and giving voice to that life in a way an audience can believe it it, is the art of the monologue. In this workshop, you will listen to and practice writing the kind of monologues that you would like to speak in front of your ideal audience; revise your monologue with guidance; rehearse; and perform it at The Foundry.

Poetry Workshop

Friday mornings, nine to noon
October 18 – November 22

We will focus on writing and the critical art of revising our own poems. I welcome all poets. The only requirements are that you be willing to write and that you are open to revising your work. So much of the art of writing is in the revision. (Look, even Yeats wrote his drafts in prose.) We will perform our work-in-progress for an audience at The Foundry.
