The Foundry 2021 Season Announcement

March 12, 2021

West Stockbridge, MA – After a successful 2020 summer/fall season pivoting to socially distanced outdoor programming, The Foundry in West Stockbridge has lined up open-air performance every weekend of June through August on The Foundry Green. Music, theater, and dance every weekend fulfills the venue’s mission to offer a platform of diverse, unique artists.

Over the winter, the venue produced online content for their Patreon subscribers that included a live-streamed, improvised soap opera, the continuing Emerging Artists Series and a bogus Masterclass Series with local collaborators.

In January, the venue hosted an artist-residency with poet, playwright and performer Micah Rosegrant and in February with cellist, vocalist and composer Meaghan Burke. Burke collaborated with The Foundry’s Director of New Work, Sara Katzoff, on her new project in development, The Wandering Womb.

This summer’s line-up includes local favorites post-punk Dust Bowl Faeries, brass band Brasskill, and cabaret duo The Fremonts . Duo Nouveau, a Flamenco duo, NYC jazz singer extraordinaire Emily Braden, and blues and soul singer Alexis P. Suter are cruising in from out of town.

Again this summer, The Foundry’s collaboration with Berkshire Music Project will import dynamic artists to the area such as avant-garde internationally known composer Sxip Shirey.

In August, cult favorite Charming Disaster returns for two fun nights. During the same month, The Foundry will be collaborating with New York’s Dramatic Question Theatre ( thedqt.org ) to present two solo pieces from their American Woman Project.

Performances start at 7PM on Friday and Saturday evenings, tickets are on sale now at thefoundryws.com.
