The Foundry Announces “Family Friendly Series” for Young Audiences

West Stockbridge – Calling all curious minds and playful spirits! The Foundry is thrilled to announce a brand new series designed to spark imaginations and create lasting memories for families. The Family Friendly Series offers a delightful selection of interactive shows that will transport audiences to new worlds and ignite creativity, and provides a platform for engaging and educational performances that the whole family can enjoy!

This series offers a unique opportunity for our younger Berkshires community to explore different themes through music, storytelling, and laughter.

The series features a diverse line-up of exciting programs, including:

  • Seán Dagher: Singing Sea Shanties! The show consists of shanties and other nautically-themed songs sung by Seán and accompanied by the audience, Seán’s bouzouki, and his « Canned Crew. » – Sunday, June 16 at 2:00PM.
  • PREPOSTEROUS! A Happenstance Clown Circus. PREPOSTEROUS! is a sophisticated, family-friendly, pocket-sized clown circus in which charming vintage clowns play circus animals, sing as a human calliope, do the classic circus mirror routine with a twist, invent a number of ridiculous “entrées”, perform live music, and execute a very satisfying slow motion number involving a pie! – Saturday, June 29 at 3:00PM.
  • Telling a story they’ll remember… Dream of telling your own story, but not sure where to start? Join storytelling pros Rebecca Sheir and Eric Shimelonis — host and composer of WBUR’s award-winning Circle Round podcast — as they lead a special storytelling workshop for all ages. – Sunday, July 21 at 3:00PM.
  • PINOT & AUGUSTINE: A Happenstance Theater Production. A sure-fire 45-minute, bilingual, crowd-pleaser, PINOT & AUGUSTINE is a classic, family-friendly clown duo inspired by the golden age of Circus. Happenstance Theater is an award-winning, professional company committed to devising, producing and touring original, performer-created visual/ poetic theater. – Saturday, August 10 at 3:00PM.
